More than 568,000 people in Ontario have been diagnosed with chronic, complex environmentally-linked illnesses – and they can’t get the healthcare, social support, rights or benefits they need because recognition of and services for these serious conditions are not currently available. We have been working for the past few years with the Myalgic Encephalomyelitis Association of Ontario (MEAO), physicians and others to urge the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC) to support the system of care called the Ontario Centre of Excellence in Environmental Health to provide appropriate care.
Funded by the Ministry of Health, government has had a clear, costed business case proposal for this system since Nov. 2013, but has still not acted.
It needs to hear from the people of this province that ‘the time is now’!
